How The fantail got its tail.

Once a long time ago, In new Zealand in a dark windy dull forest, there was a lonely brown cold sparrow hopping around the trees. It fell down on a bumpy path. Suddenly a tall skinny human came along and saw the sparrow lying down on a rough pathway.  The human put his hands together to make a cup shape and scooped up the poor little sparrow up into his hands. Then the friendly human put the sparrow in a comfortable place.

Then one day a low voice spoke to the sparrow. The sparrow  thought. It’s the god of the bird he was wondering what he wanted to say to the sparrow. The god said your tail is too short grow it longer. Then the god disappeared. The sparrow thought why he needed to grow it’s tail longer but he knew that he had to do what the god of the bird said.

He went to his family and said” how do I grow a tail “.  The Mummy sparrow said “well what happened “ the sparrow said “ the god said that I have to grow my tail back. The god will be quite angry with me. ”The Mummy sparrow says “ I might have some medicine for growing tails back.“YAY” said the sparrow.

The next day the sparrow woke up , his tail was a fan. He ran down from his nest to go show off his new tail but as he was flying down the god of the bird came he said “good job little sparrow I think your tail looks so good that I will give all sparrows tails like yours. Before I go you can rename sparrows to what you want so goodbye and I will see you soon”. The god disappeared so the sparrow thought and thought what should I rename sparrows as he touched the ground of his living room he said It out loud “I GOT IT FANTAILS” “what” said his family look at my tail” “ look at our tails” and so sparrows got renamed to fantails and they lived happily ever after.

As I sit and think about ANZAC day…

I think about poppies, they are dark red with a bright green stem and a black dot in the middle.

On ANZAC day we wear a poppy to remember the soldiers who fort in the war. Also they grow in the fields where soldiers were buried, poppies look like blood.

when I got to the dawn parade I see people with warm toasty clothes on.As we get closer to the service I smell the rich coffee I hear the bag pipes ,drums and solders marching proudly down the street it feels icy as I walk down the street.

my ancent Egypt boat

On Thursday I made a Egypt boat it is made out of a milk bottle. 

First my daddy cut out the top of the empty milk bottle. Then in the afternoon I wrote some hieroglyphics on it first boat then I wrote Nile river and on the inside i did Egypt. Then on the other side I wrote Egypt water.

I decided to put it in my paddling pool to see if it will float and it did so I put some paper in and it was still floating then I put a ball in and it still was floating!  So I made one more challenge  how many rocks can fit in my boat so I put one rock in two rocks in three rocks then SPLASH! ! !  it went to the bottam of the pool so I took all of them out and survive the great boat float hopefully it will.  So only three rocks can go in my boat so we will see if my boat will survive.

discovering Tutankhamun's tomb

Dear diary,

I am looking for a tomb, a tomb that has not been robbed  I have been asking for money for a long time. This is the last amount of money I can get if I don't find a tomb that has not been robbed its all over. 

So I went to Egypt one last time 2 days later "I hit something!" I brushed the sand off it looked like a step so I kept digging then suddenly I found a whole trail of stairs I called Lord Carnavon to come have a look. So he came straight away.

Lord carnrvon and I went into the tomb with a big group as soon as we got down there we saw that it was broken into. we were very disappointed. 

Just in case we pulled the wall down as soon as we got in I saw gold everywhere we pushed our way past all the gold carefully.

we finally made it to the mummy. We opened the box and there was another box after several boxes we found a sarcophagus so I open the sarcophagus and revealed the mummy we scanned the mummy together.

then it took a lot of days to empty the tomb (because there was a LOT of jewels.) Then they got put in  a  museum.

Today Stu Duval/an artist came .We went first at 9 am. First we sat down and waited for the other classes to come when the last class came they had mats to sit on.After that said how to draw a cartoon s it went like this s two dots a prickle and a line. After that Stu said to tell him some stuff about a fairy tale and then he said that he would make  a story about all the ideas some characters were little red ridding hood, a prince with green tights , a witch with long black armpit hair, the big bad wolf and a pet  called crazy carrot and that is all I can remember  the story was about a witch that did catch little red ridding hood and she got stuck in the the witch's castle for 7 years and her hair did grow as long as Rapunzal.

Today the bird lady came and she brought her dog Missy and lots of birds

The birds were morepork, silver eye, gold finch, kereru and a parrot named max.

Silvia said that she had once had an albertross! She also Said that she takes eny birds.

When she did take max out she let mrs hook put him on her shoulder. mrs hook did take a selfie.

At the end Missy got taken off her leash after that we left.
